I just got back from the most amazing live show. I went to see Danny Michel ("Mish-elle") with some OT girls...and oh man - he was freaking awesome. I can't really explain, but he just put so much into performing live...chatted with the audience...it was just really really personal. He went into these bits of improv too, which was amazing! He also had this thing that could loop parts of what he was playing...kinda hard to explain, but he would play the bass line, and let it loop throughout the whole rest of the time he was playing on top of it. He also had this thing he put on his finger, and then ran it over the guitar strings, which made it sound kinda like a violin. Oh man...so good.

and i am also really really really confused. I don't really know what I want, and if this is what i want...or its just the idea of it that i want. grrrrr...i think i just need to go home to be away from it all. *sigh* at least i have good music for the greyhound trip~

wow...kinda speechless right now. just watched unfaithful. i don't really know how to put into words how it made me feel. it was just really powerful i guess. and i don't really see how, after seeing the concequences like that, why you would ever cheat. especially when you have such a cute kid....

I know you will have a blast, even if you do share "your day" with a couple others... And make the most of being 19!! There is my advice hahaha :) We will have to try to get together over christmas...even though you may not be in town??? let me know!! Miss you tons and good luck on Finals!!!

I got back my mark for the first of the three presentations last week. and pretty much sucked. though the marking is a load of bollox (Can i get aways with saying that?)

allow me to explain...so, our prof was marking (which counts for a quarter), our TA was marking (another 1/4) and then some random lady (another 1/4), who is apparently the prof(susan's) friend, and is starting her masters in jan. The last 1/4 comes from the average of all the student markers. So, we get an average of 81% from the students, which i'm pretty ok with. but the prof/TA/random lady mark....not so much. they all gave us in the mid 60s (65, 63 and 62.5)...those combined with the students is 68...a freaking C

now, looking back, i realize we (it was a group presentation/project) could have done a better job, but i don't think it was a C. the thing that pisses me off the most, is susan was like, oh the markers (minus the students ) were all really consistant when they got together and compared their marks. BUT on our marking sheets it looks to me like a lot of changes were made (as in decrease marks) to make their marks similar. frick...its kinda complicated to explain, and it probably is legit, but if you met this woman you would understand my stong dislike for her. She puts on this air or superiority, and is probably the least approachable person i have ever met in my life. If you email her a question, she gives you a blunt answer that makes you feel incredibly stupid. For example, we had a bunch of forms to fill out on fieldwork (strengths and weaknesses), and i was confused by what was it was written on this purple paper (this is significant), and so i asked her, and her response: have you checked the purple sheet - it is clearly laid out there...I'm like seriously???? thats why i was asking idiot - i was confused!!!!

anyway, i'm just angered by the whole situation, and suprised by the amound of marks we lost...we ended up with 5/10 on a bunch of things on the marking guide, and i just don't see how we lost that many marks....

gah! so pissed off.

but really nothing i can do now, other than study my booty off for the final
