HNT

Wishing I was at camp rather than trying to study for a 60% final.

Yeah, thats right, 60% for 2 months of class. Seriously? I am not impressed.

And then, oh it gets better! I get to volunteer making (well, hopefully wrapping, rather than cooking this time) burgers for random drunken eskies fans, even though the team is not even in the playoffs! All for the sake of making grad cheaper. which i guess is ok, minus the fact that there are for sure ppl in our class that haven't done it yet!
I'm not done yet --> next week I have 3 presentations and a paper due. umm...i definetily know stress! unfortunate.

Here I go again I promised myself I wouldn't think of you today
It's been seven months and counting
You've moved on
I still feel exactly the same
It's just that everywhere I go all the buildings know your name
Like photographs and memories of love
Steel and granite reminders
The city calls your name and I can't move on

Ever since you've been gone
The lights go out the same
The only difference is
You call another name
To your love
To your lover now
To your love
The lover after me

Am I all alone in the universe?
There's no love on these streets
I have given mine away to a world that didn't want it anyway
So this is my new freedom
It's funny
I don't remember being chained
But nothing seems to make sense anymore
Without you I'm always twenty minutes late

Ever since you've been gone
The lights go out the same
The only difference is
You call another name
To your love
To your lover now
To your love
The lover after me

And time goes by so slowly
The nights are cold and lonely
I shouldn't be holding on
But I'm still holding on for you

Here I go again
I promised myself I wouldn't think of you today
But I'm standing at your doorway
I'm calling out your name because I can't move on

Ever since you've been gone
The lights go out the same
The only difference is
You call another name
To your love
To your lover now
To your love
The lover after me

your love's like tenesse tobacco - its killing me but all i want is more...

I don't understand why classes like the one i had this afternoon put me in this "I need to be in a relationship to be happy" kind of mood. It was a class on sexuality and the elderly, and i'm pretty sure the last time i was in this kind of mood b/c of school it was another class on sexuality. I mean, how can i be, i guess jealous, of an elderly person, just beacuse they are in a relationship? it just doesn't make sense. I want to find the person I want to spend the rest of my life with before its too late, and i'm sick of people telling me that either (a) if i stop looking, it will just happen, or (b) you're young, you shouldn't be worrying about that. Well the fact is, I am worrying, and I'm not really looking - I mean, I'm not out at the bar, or anywhere else, trying to pick up guys. Which leads to (c) you need to be more outgoing. well I can't be. I can't just strike up a conversation with some random guy. I'm not that kind of person. I think some of it has to do with the fact that I don't have the most perfect skin. I am working on it (thank you accutane), but i don't really see myself as a gorgeous, confident girl. I think i just need to stop caring about what other people think - but that is easier said than done.

The other thing i don't get is how so many people around this university are in relationships, and they aren't even the most gorgeous people. I mean, what is it i'm doing wrong? I don't get it.

Then I see this dad and his little kid (toddler age), which just compounded my feelings. I want kids, but I don't want to have to wait forever to find someone to have them with (given, I definetely don't want them right this second.).

I'm just so annoyed.

..Great Truths..

Funniest, most random thing I have heard in a while was walking to the pool on thursday...
these 2 guys are walking out of the gym, and one of them is like "I'm debating on whether or not to shower"... and just for a visual, this guy has about a foot wide ring of sweat around the neck line of his t-shirt. All I can think, is "Do you even need to think that? SERIOUSLY"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GREAT TRUTHS THAT LITTLE CHILDREN HAVE LEARNED:
1) No matter how hard you try, you can't baptize cats.
2) When your Mom is mad at your Dad, don't let her brush your hair.
3) If your sister hits you, don't hit her back. They always catch the second person.
4) Never ask your 3-year old brother to hold a tomato.
5) You can't trust dogs to watch your food.
6) Don't sneeze when someone is cutting your hair.
7) Never hold a Dust-Buster and a cat at the same time.
8) You can't hide a piece of broccoli in a glass of milk.
9) Don't wear polka-dot underwear under white shorts.
10) The best place to be when you're sad is Grandpa's lap.

GREAT TRUTHS THAT ADULTS HAVE LEARNED:
1) Raising teenagers is like nailing Jell-O to a tree.
2) Wrinkles don't hurt.
3) Families are like fudge...mostly sweet, with a few nuts.
4) Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground.
5) Laughing is good exercise. It's like jogging on the inside.
6) Middle age is when you choose your cereal for the fiber, not the toy.

GREAT TRUTHS ABOUT GROWING OLD
1) Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional.
2) Forget the health food. I need all the preservatives I can get.
3) When you fall down, you wonder what else you can do while you're down there.
4) You're getting old when you get the same sensation from a rocking chair that you once got from a roller coaster.
5) It's frustrating when you know all the answers but nobody bothers to ask you the questions.
6) Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician.
7) Wisdom comes with age, but sometimes age comes alone.

SUCCESS:
At age 4 success is . . not peeing in your pants.
At age 12 success is having friends.
At age 16 success is . . . having a drivers license.
At age 35 success is . having money.
At age 50 success is . . . having money.
At age 70 success is . . . having a drivers license.
At age 75 success is . having friends.
At age 80 success is not peeing in your pants.

Birthdays...

From here...

30 November 1985

Your date of conception was on or about 9 March 1985 which was a Saturday.
You were born on a Saturday under the astrological sign Sagittarius.

Your Life path number is 1.

The Life Path 1 suggests that you entered this plane with skills allowing you to become a leader type rather easily. Your nature is charged with individualistic desires, a demand for independence, and the need for personal attainment. Many of our military generals, corporate leaders, and political leaders are men and women having the Life Path 1. When you display positive 1 traits your mind is capable of significant creative inspiration, and it possesses the enthusiasm and drive to accomplish a great deal. You are very good at getting the ball rolling; initiating new projects is your forte. You are at your best when confronted with obstacles and challenges, as you combat these with strength and daring. This is both the physical and inner varieties of strength. With this strength comes utter determination and the capability to lead. As a natural leader you have a flair for taking charge of any situation. You have a tendency to do this, even if, at times, it is not appropriate for you to do so.

Highly original, you may have talents as an inventor or innovator of some sort. In any work that you choose, your independent attitude can show through. You have very strong personal needs and desires, and you feel it is always necessary to follow your own convictions. You tire of routine and highly detailed tasks rather quickly.

You are ambitious and assertive in promoting yourself. Although you may hide the fact for social reasons, you can be self-centered and demand to have your way in many circumstances. That said, for the most part, you are considered very good company, friendly, good-natured, and a wonderful conversationalist. People like you and are drawn to you. It is a good thing they are, because you are very sensitive to disapproval and you don't handle it very well.

There are several ways that the negative side of the 1 can show up. The 1 always has the potential for greatness as a leader, but they may fail as a follower. Unfortunately, sometimes you have to follow for a while before you are allowed to lead and this can be a difficult time. When the 1 Life Path person is not fully developed and expressing the negative side of this number, the demeanor may appear very dependent rather than independent, particularly in the early years. If you are expressing this negative trait of the number 1, you are likely to be very dissatisfied with your circumstances, and long for self-sufficiency. This might be defined as the weak or dependent side of the negative 1 Life Path. On the strong side of this negative curve, the 1 energy can become too self-serving, selfish and egotistical. Avoid being too bossy and demanding.

Norwalk? Seriously people...

Don't you think that by the time you reach university you have had "wash your hands after you use the washroom" drilled into your head more than enough? And that if you are in university you would be smart enough to do this anyway? Apparently not. Someone likely chose not to wash their hands resulting in this. Students in a residence I sadly admit to living in at one time, suffering from "gastro-intestinal" illness. i.e. NORWALK. People just don't get that this is relatively easily preventable by washing your hands after you use the washrooom and before you touch anything that goes in your mouth.

I have spent at least 3 weeks at camp (work) dealing with this exact same thing a few summers ago, though i feel that young children maybe need to be reminded to wash their hands after using the washroom a little more often than adults. I even admit to actually getting this illness, just from being around so much vomit, and in such close quarters with vomiting children - and let me tell you it is not pleasant.

So please, do all of us a favor and wash your hands after using the washroom.
