back in deadmonton...
Well here goes the summary (at least of the interesting parts) of christmas break.
Christmas was good, my mom had to work, but my dad was in an amazing mood so that made it better (he was actually tolerable of my brother). nothing super big/exciting for presents, but thoughtful/fun/useful things nonetheless.
For the 1st time ever i went boxing day shopping with the girls. Had a total blast, though the food court ppl were pissing me off, stealing tables from people who had been waiting for them... geeez.
Basically the only really "exciting" thing that happened was my tooth chipping fiasco. My brother wanted me to go x-country skiing with him, b/c he had new skis to try out b4 we went to canmore for a few days. We just went out on the golf course by my house and down the usual hill...except when i went down the hill *BAM* hit something and did a major face plant. I don't remember anything b/w starting down the hill and landing face down in snow that was quickly covered with blood. I scraped the bridge of my nose, the bottom of my nose, my lip (which quickly swelled to 3 times its size...that does alot for your self esteem - let me tell you) and my chin. And of course the chipped tooth, and a pretty large chip at that (almost half my tooth on the diagonal). Good times. We were leaving for canmore the next day, and was i ever a wreck. It was mostly my lip that was causing the trouble...I think it took 3 days for the swelling to go down a noticable amount. I looked like a hockey player, not even joking. I broke down completely the 2nd day...and i think that was kinda the turning point. Its kinda confusing what i was feeling, but it was basically the whole appearance thing (ie. acne) getting me down, the lip was just the last straw. So, what i'm trying to get at is that i am finally "breaking down" and starting the process of going on accutane. I'm still a little scared, but stuff that people have been saying - as in its the best thing for me to try has been sinking in i guess. I went to my derm in calgary, and she was going to refer me to someone close to the university up here, the only problem is its been more than a week and i haven't heard back.
anyway, went to sunshine twice while we were in canmore...it was amazing...the snow was awesome, though it was a little to cold for me.
sad news...i didn't even stay up till midnight on new years eve. I know its sad, but i was in canmore still, and my parents got tired and went to bed, and my brother wasn't very enthused about it, so i just went to sleep. meh. Not like anything romantic was going to happen, no guy.
Came back up to deadmonton sunday night, but i couldn't bring half the stuff i wanted to cuz i was bringing a small bag, and didn't have much room for anything other than clothes. Kinda a problem to bring more than one back when you take the bus.
Classes seem good so far, nothing super exciting yet.
Take care all. and i'm sorry to those i didn't see over the break (jacqui, kristen etc).
