I don't know if you guys have been reading waiter rant at all (since I posted about it), but this post is another gem (haha....can't believe i just said that...anyway)...have a read
"I look out the window. The husband’s walking down the street blabbing on his cell phone. His wife follows ten paces behind. I suddenly remember a line from the Gospel, “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
This guy’s heart was sitting two feet across from him and he ignored her. No surprise though - his treasure was on the other end of that phone call.
Maybe the guy should’ve married his cell phone. "
People always seem to miss what is sitting right in front of them. Whether it be a loving family, the love of their life, or even the simple beauty of a sunrise or sunset. We just live in way too much of a fast-paced life, and I think we often forget to just stop and smell the roses. I was in winnipeg over christmas visiting my grandma, and we went up to the whiteshell (just north of winnipeg) for a few days to x-country ski, and it is amazing how beautiful it is up there in the winter. and so quiet when i stopped for a minute to just listen. Absolute silence. it was amazing.
